My local Dealership had a “one owner” TailHawk Renagade for sale. AND ITS A MANUAL! I saw the sales manager driving it not that long ago so I’m guessing it was a company car. They do this a lot to meet Chrysler sales quotas(I used to work there, in sales). I like the little keep but still 27000 seems like to much.

Looks like an auto to me:

Kinja'd!!!

And I chuckled when I read “This superb Jeep is one of the most sought after used vehicles on the market because it NEVER lets owners down.”

And 27k? For that? I can think of a lot better ways to spend that kind of money.

I don’t think the Trailhawk Renegade has ever been available with a manual. :-(

TrailHawks are automatic only in the US. Hate to burst your bubble. Also they are going for ~19k used private party.

You can get new ones for that, that said, I wonder if these depreciate like Jeeps or like Fiats.

I’m going to guess Fiats. Well maybe more like Dodges.

I trusted the Craigslist Filter that it was manual. That was a mistake, should have looked more closely at the pics.

No such thing as a manual TrailHawk, at least not from FCA. I can only wait until the aftermarket somehow steps in. The Renegade so far is only available with a manual behind (beside? It’s transverse) the 4-banger. Le sigh.

Pet peeves: TRIGGARRDDD
1) Listed as manual when it’s an automatic
2) Is the price more than when it was new?
3) advertising “1-owner”... I SHOULD HOPE SO. IT’S NOT EVEN A ONE-YEAR OLD CAR! One owner ‘93 Prelude, yes. 1-owner 2015 Corolla, NO.
4) “never let’s the owner down!” Can you make that claim on a model that isn’t even two years old? Also: NO.

I have a manual 4wd Renegade Lattitude by the way if you have any questions.

How much space is in the back? And how good is it in the loose dirt? I am thinking about one for kid hauling duty but I want to make an abarth-styled one and rallycross it.

Kid hauling is why I bought it. Putting car seats into the back of my 2 door 335i would have been a pain in the ass. I’m 5'11" and I can still sit comfortably behind the drivers seat. On a couple long road trips I have napped comfortably laying in the back seat. Also I bought it for getting into hunting spots where I couldn’t take a car but don’t need a zj (RIP) either. It fits a standard rifle case in the back seat perfectly. As for trunk space it is a little tight with the seats up. Two full size suitcases and a diaper bag would be about all you could fit. Which is perfect for me. The storage below the trunk shelf is roomy and very handy. With the seats folded down it really is a lot of space. Something to notice is that the roofline does not drop in the back. I carry a lot of square things so having a roof line that doesn’t taper was really important for me.

The 4wd works well but traction control should be turned off for slow maneuvers in loose conditions with the 6MT. 1st gear isn’t low enough to be considered low range (~5mph at idle) so your not going to be able to do any rock crawling but in mud and snow it does great. With traction control on the ABS unit tries to brake individual wheels to simulate a locking diff. That’s how the trail hawk version can lift wheels and still move with no problem and do more than what most expect. The problem is if you are semi beached in the snow it won’t let you power out with wheel spin with TCS on. It will override throttle input and use individual brakes to slow all the wheels down to a crawl to find traction. No problem in an auto but with a MT it forces a stall because low gear is too tall. Slip the clutch a little? Nope, it will burn right up. Drop the clutch and give it some gas to keep it from stalling? Nope, it will burn up a brake pad trying to slow the wheel then limit throttle causing a stall. The only way to get out is to turn TCS off and drive it out like you would have if it the car wasn’t equipped with a totally half baked TCS calibration. Hence the user name. Having said that, once you know the tricks it really is a great little 4wd performer. Snow and loose gravel uphill are no problem.

I drive about 30k miles a year and a MT, 4wd, with 30+mpg was what I was shopping for. The Renegade fit the bill. Plus I like the small size of it. After 30k miles I would buy it again. If I didn’t want a MT and only 4wd and good gas economy in a CUV I would go with a CX-5. That’s what my wife drives and we both love it. The 4wd system is fantastic. It is a little bit bigger than the Renegade interior wise but not much. There is a big visibility trade off. 60k miles in and no issues what so ever. The Renegade has been in to the shop for a few things under warranty as expected for FCA products.
